My Next Book

June 9, 2014

I’m about a quarter of the way into my next novel, so I thought I’d give a little insight into my current obsession. Taking a slight side step from my other books, I’m now working on a somewhat glamorous murder mystery, with elements of fantasy and romance, as always, and the working title, Hairy Jack. Set in the 1920s in Massachusetts, it will have everything from jazz, vaudeville and flappers, to ancient artifacts, magic and mythology, and, of course, murder.

The plot will center around an Archaeology student whose Archaeology professor/uncle dies under mysterious circumstances after revealing he has found a very valuable mythical artifact. Soon after, the skeleton of a recent murder victim is found buried in a garden, who turns out to be the dead uncle’s colleague. Our main character believes the deaths are related, and that his uncle was murdered for his priceless discovery.

I’ll go into further details at a later date and reveal the most interesting aspect of the story, which involves the characters themselves, but for now I’ll keep some of the mystery.

Here’s a sample of some of the music I’m currently listening to, to inspire my mood (don't forget to turn off the website music first):

"Me and the Man in the Moon" (1928)
